from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Drachenschatz was a quiz show for eight to twelve year old children at Confetti TiVi , based on an idea by Thomas Brezina . The first broadcast was broadcast on January 9, 2006 and could be seen from Monday to Thursday at 2:05 p.m. on ORF Eins . The game show was moderated alternately by Kati Bellowitsch and Thomas Brezina. The first candidates were two girls from Styria , Isabel and Rebecca. The show was canceled with the introduction of Okidoki . In February 2009 Drachenschatz made a comeback in the Okidoki program, since then old episodes of the program have been broadcast daily again.

Design and production

The screen design came from ORF's own graphics department under the direction of Norbert Wuchte. The music and sound design were created by the Viennese composer Hannes Bertolini . Drachenschatz was produced by the Viennese production company Act Media on behalf of ORF.

Contributors

The evil magician Merlox von Mieselsupp was played by the castle actor Johannes Krisch . He tried to prevent the children from getting to the dragon treasure. The dragon was called Coolino and was a computer-animated character waiting for the children in the dragon's lair. The children were selected through a multi-stage casting process. There were also specials: twins competed in one program and pairs of pupils and teachers in another.

regulate

In the game, teams of two had to cope with a course and free the dragon Coolino , whom Merlox held captive by Mieselsupp . Among other things, the teams had to put their friendship to the test and prove that they know each other well and that they stick together. The children were given questions and riddles to solve on rolls of parchment , there were 7 rolls each. The children had to say beforehand how many spaces they would like to move forward when they solve the puzzle. Merlox set traps for them and every mistake the children made, he let his wand grow - but you could use a magical shamrock once and repeat the task. After the third mistake, the magician conjured the children away from the playing field with a whirlwind . Even if the roles were used up before the children reached the cave, the players were removed by magic, ending the game.

The challenges

Number scales

Candidates were shown a set of scales on which several balls with numbers from 1-9 can be seen. You had to move the individual balls to the left and right so that the same amount came out on both sides. The children could play this game once, twice or three times, depending on how many fields they wanted to advance.

  1. Round: 6 number balls
  2. Round: 8 number balls
  3. Round: 9–12 number balls

coat of arms

A coat of arms appeared and the candidates had to memorize its colors and symbols. Then the coat of arms turned and reappeared in a different form. The children now had to recognize the 3 differences to the first coat of arms and can thus achieve up to 3 points.

seven

The candidates saw 7 numbered objects arranged in a circle, which disappeared after approx. 5 seconds. They were then shown one of these 7 objects in the center of the circle and had to guess which number it had. This game could be played once, twice, or three times.

With each subsequent round, the items became more difficult to tell apart.

Ghost voices

A word was played backwards to the children. They were then offered 3 possible answers, all of which are similar to the word mentioned, but only one of them was correct. This game could also be played up to 3 times.

The words became more complex from round to round, and the possible answers became more and more similar.

Click Klak

The candidates got some pictures on a certain topic e.g. B. "Food" is shown and the first candidate had to select the 4 pictures that he believes the other candidate would like the most and when the virtual picture frame moves over one of these pictures, the first candidate had to say "Klik". The other candidate had to turn away from the screen. The second candidate was then shown the same pictures in a different order and had to say "Klak" when the picture frame passed over one of his four favorites. Later the answers of the two were compared and depending on how many identical pictures the candidates selected, they could achieve up to 4 points.

What does ... look like?

In this game, questions were always asked about the appearance of a certain object, animal, etc. (e.g. "What does a spring balance look like?"). Then three images were displayed, one of which represents the object in question. This challenge could also be played 1 to 3 times.

With each mastered question, the given answer options became trickier.

Find the question

The classic game where you got an answer and had to find the right question. Again, the candidates were given 3 possible questions, one of which is correct. Like most other games, this challenge could be played up to 3 times.

The answers given became more similar from round to round.

Archery

Eight arrows were available. You could choose up to three of them. Some hit in the middle, which took the children one step further. There were also arrows which only lead to a hit at the edges. That won half a field. However, there were also "duds", arrows that landed in the grass and were therefore not scored.

labyrinth

There were four entrances. But not all led to the goal. You had to add up the numbers on the way to the middle, so that a certain sum z. B. 29 came out. Warning: the longer you need to do this, the fewer fields you could walk.

Magic potion

Nine objects fell into the cauldron. The children had to try to remember as many as possible. Five objects moved them one space, seven objects two spaces and nine objects three spaces.

Profit opportunities

There were so-called “dragon coins” to be won, each worth 33 euros. There were 6 thalers in total on the enchanted dragon path and a total of 15 thalers in the dragon's cave. Anyone who came to the dragon's lair has to pass a final: this was about the children knowing each other really well. There were 7 treasure chests in the dragon's cave. One of them was empty, the others contained 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 dragon coins and in a chest is the golden dragon, which doubled all the dragon coins earned.

Contest

There was a raffle in every program: viewers were asked to answer questions and thus come up with a code number that could be given on the Internet or by telephone. If you could use it to open the treasure chest, you were entered into a raffle. The prize was a treasure chest with a piece of parchment.
