Katharina "Kati" Bellowitsch-Geyer (born June 13, 1974 in Graz ) is an Austrian television and radio presenter .

Career

Kati Bellowitsch trained as an elementary school teacher after graduating from high school. In 1996 she started working for the commercial Styrian radio station Antenne Steiermark as a morning presenter (together with ex- Ö3 presenter Martin Kmiecik), and soon the passionate motocross and Formula 1 lover became a TV reporter for Offroad magazine at Eurosport . In 1998 she worked for a private radio station in Vienna and in 1999 as press spokeswoman for the Formula 3000 team Red Bull Junior .

Since August 1, 1999 she has been editor and presenter at Hitradio Ö3 (Ö3 morning show) and since October 15, 2000, she has hosted ORF children's programs on Confetti TiVi . She became better known as the moderator of Forscherexpress - the show about knowledge together with Thomas Brezina . From the beginning of 2006 to mid-2008, she also moderated the quiz show Drachenschatz by Thomas Brezina as co-host . From September 13, 2008 she moderated the quiz show The Riddles of the Pharaoh .

On February 11, 2010, Bellowitsch was the presenter on the red carpet of the Vienna Opera Ball. In 2010 and 2011, Bellowitsch moderated the Kiddy Contest on ORF . From 2011 to 2016 , Bellowitsch announced Austria's points in the Eurovision Song Contest , before she was replaced by Kristina Inhof in 2017 . In 2018 she took over the role of points spokesperson again. In 2014 she did this with a glued on beard, out of solidarity with the Austrian participant Conchita Wurst .

From 2011 she moderated the quiz program Quiz-Safari of the ORF children's program okidoki , alternating with Georg Urbanitsch . In 2012, she made a guest appearance in the episode Konrad Mautsch of the ORF crime series Schnell Determined . Since 2012 she no longer works for the ORF children's program. On June 6, 2014, she hosted the show Mother Earth on ORF and on June 21, 2015 and July 3, 2016, Bellowitsch accompanied the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Austria in Spielberg .

She has had a particularly close relationship with sport since childhood: as a child she was a competitive gymnast in apparatus gymnastics, and she also had success in tennis and horse riding.

Kati Bellowitsch is married and has two sons.

In 2017 she was a candidate for the quiz show Spiel für dein Land, together with Peter Kraus and Verena Scheitz . Since May 2019 she has been presenting the program Des traust di nie! on pulse4 .
