The Drehscheibe ( turntable Germany until 2013 ) is a tabloid and country magazine on the ZDF television channel .

broadcast

The first broadcast of the turntable took place on January 7, 1998. Until December 30, 2011 the broadcast began at 12:15 pm with a broadcast time of 45 minutes. On January 2, 2012, the airtime was extended to 50 minutes in favor of shorter Today news from 12 noon. The broadcast now starts at 12:10 p.m.

The show is moderated regularly, alternating between Babette von Kienlin and Sandra Maria Gronewald .

The Drehscheibe mainly reports on regional topics from the country studios in Germany. Further contents of the program are tabloid and service reports. From August 16, 2010 to the beginning of 2012 there was also a sports block presented by a sports editor from the ZDF sports department. The introduction took place as a replacement for the program heute - Sport , which was broadcast until August 2010 at 3:00 p.m. The sports block was then discontinued at the same time as a sports block was firmly established in today's main edition at 7 p.m.

The Expedition Germany has been an integral part since 2011 . In each broadcast, a location is randomly determined from a previously defined federal state from which the respective reporter from the state studio should find an exciting story.

Today's turntable is a renaissance of the program Die Drehscheibe , which ran from 1964 to 1982 in the evening program , but with a different concept. On the occasion of ZDF's 50th birthday in March 2013, the turntable looked back at the former program.

In November 2013 the studio should get a relaunch. However, during rehearsals it turned out that it cannot be implemented until January 2014. A new studio was created that is more viewer-friendly. In addition, the addition of Germany has been dispensed with since then .
