Andrea Ballschuh (born July 12, 1972 in Dresden ) is a German television and radio presenter .

Life

Ballschuh appeared on GDR television as a child announcer at the age of eleven . After graduating from high school in 1991 at Alexander von Humboldt High School, she spent a year as an au pair girl in Los Angeles with Jessika Cardinahl and Al Corley and their three children.

Ballschuh has been married to the English musician Jem Atai since 2007 and the couple have a daughter.

Her first book, Gärtnern ist mein Yoga - Gummistiefel mein Pumps , was published in February 2014 , which she wrote together with ZDF gardening expert Elmar Mai .

Andrea Ballschuh was nominated on June 23, 2016 by the Kuratorium Gutessehen e. V. named glasses wearer of the year 2016 . In previous years, this award was given to prominent personalities such as Joko Winterscheidt and Jan Hofer .

Political commitment

In December 2009 Ballschuh acted as a testimonial for the New Social Market Economy initiative . She got involved in a PR campaign for the statement Social market economy makes it better ... because she invests in our future: our children.

Ballschuh is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Hope Foundation Cape Town .
