Thomas Kurscheid (2012)

Thomas Kurscheid (born May 8, 1964 in Bensberg , today a district of Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German doctor , health scientist , moderator and author .

Life

Kurscheid completed a medical degree and specialist training in Budapest, Cologne and London. He received his doctorate in 1992 on "necrotizing enterocolitis", a bowel disease in infants. He is a specialist in general medicine as well as nutrition and sports medicine. In 1996 he graduated addition, entitled "Master of Public Health" (MPH) the course of study Health Sciences at the University of Dusseldorf from. Kurscheid then worked scientifically for three years at the Institute for Health Economics and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Cologne, as well as for the international health economics of BASF Pharma. The main focus of his work was obesity and cardiovascular diseases and their prevention. This was followed by four years in health management at DKV in Cologne. From 2003 he was the medical director of the goMedus health center in Cologne and worked as a resident doctor. His practice is in the south of Cologne.

In 2018, Thomas Kurscheid was co-founder of the "Society for Healthy Weight (GGG)", which offers advanced training for the "GGG adipologist". The aim of the company is the curricular training of doctors and health professions in the treatment of overweight and obesity.

Thomas Kurscheid is a lecturer at the Fresenius University in Cologne. As a health scientist and specialist in general medicine, as well as sports and nutrition medicine, he gives advice on lectures on health problems in the areas of nutrition, exercise and behavior. On television, among other things, he was a guest on the RTL programs Punkt 6 , Punkt 9 , Punkt 12 , Explosiv , on WDR at local time , service time , current hour , on ZDF at Markus Lanz and Drehscheibe Deutschland .
