The Sana Dreifaltigkeits-Krankenhaus Cologne in Cologne-Braunsfeld is a hospital founded in 1909 .
history
The Trinity Hospital in Cologne was one of three facilities of the Cherubine-Willimann-Foundation Arenberg. Cherubine Willimann was the founder of the Arenberg Dominican Sisters. In 1909 they opened the house on Aachener Strasse for sixty “surgical and internal patients” . The institution was sponsored by the Order of the Sisters, who had maintained an asylum for women of "all classes" in Cologne's Mittelstrasse ( St. Agnes Abbey ) since 1890 .
In 1909 it worked as a general hospital with several specialist departments until it became the Clinic for Orthopedics and Sports Traumatology in 1977, which was expanded in 1980 with the option of comprehensive physical therapy using technical aids.
Since 1982 the company has been working with the German Sport University Cologne (for example in looking after high-performance athletes) and became an official cooperation partner in 1998. In 1999 the hospital entered into a cooperation with the Olympic base in Cologne; Since 2004 there has also been a cooperation with the Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln , the Ford-BKK (implementation of the integrated care under the brand ViTep), the Louise von Marillak-Schule and the St.-Elisabeth-Krankenhaus-GmbH in Cologne with regard to practical training in health and nursing.
From 1985 to 1997 renovation work (kitchen, wet rooms, operating theater, swimming pool) was carried out. In 1994 outpatient rehabilitation was set up and in 1995 the rehabilitation area was expanded to 1,000 square meters.
In 1996 there was a conceptual change with the establishment of inpatient rehabilitation according to Section 111 SGB V with 20 inpatient rehabilitation beds.
The hospital wards have been continuously modernized since 2012. In addition to new rooms and modernization of the technology, individual departments are restructured and renewed. This also includes a new exterior facade of the hospital. The renovation of the hospital is expected to be completed in 2018.
The 100th anniversary was celebrated in 2009.
