Three Lakes Region (Bavaria)

The Three Lakes area refers to a sequence of three lakes in the Bavarian Alps . These include the Weitsee in the area of ​​the municipality of Reit im Winkl , the Mittersee and the Lödensee in the area of ​​the municipality of Ruhpolding along the German Alpine Road ( B 305 ) between Seegatterl and Seehaus.

They are embedded in a valley between Dürrnbachhorn and Gurnwandkopf and have no surface drainage. All three lakes are located in the Eastern Chiemgau Alps nature reserve . The lakes are very popular bathing lakes in the area.
