Drenke is a district of the city of Beverungen in the Höxter district , North Rhine-Westphalia . Drenke is about 5 km west of Beverungen.
history
Drenke was first mentioned in a document in 1203: Bishop Bernard von Paderborn transferred goods to the Gehrden monastery .
After a foundation in 1858 in favor of a chaplain, the construction of the Catholic Church began in 1859. The topping-out ceremony was on October 29, 1859 and the inauguration ceremony on February 26 .
In 1868 a Catholic school was built, which in April 1939 was merged with the Protestant elementary school, built in 1912.
On January 1, 1970 Drenke was incorporated into the city of Beverungen.
