Dresden Future Forum is a congress that has been taking place in Dresden since 2005 .

1st Dresden Future Forum

On June 10, 2005, the “1. Dresden Future Forum ”. 200 participants from ten nations took part in the congress. Experts from different fields talked about Extended Internet (X Internet), computers and the related progressive computerization of everyday life. In addition to the technology, the effects of its use were in the foreground.

The speakers were Michelle de Lussanet, Chief Analyst of the European Telecommunications and Mobile Communications Division at Forrester Research , Andreas Schleicher, Head of the Indicators and Analysis Department of the Directorate for Education in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Eilif Trondsen, Head of Learning -On-demand program from SRI Consulting Business Intelligence, a spin-off of the Stanford Research Institute, Kurt Albert, alpinist, photographer and founder of red point climbing, Steffen Prasse, program manager at T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH, Stephan Schambach, managing director of Demandware, Inc., Gerhard Banse, Fraunhofer application center for logistics system planning and information processes, Karsten Buse, holder of the Heinrich Hertz endowed chair at Deutsche Telekom AG for communication sensors at the University of Bonn and Eberhard Burger, building director for the reconstruction of the Dresden Frauenkirche. The event was hosted by Peter Glotz , former director at the Institute for Media and Communication Management at the University of St. Gallen.

2nd Dresden Future Forum 2006

On November 16, 2006, the 2nd Dresden Future Forum took place in the International Congress Center Dresden . The developments of the Internet and life and business in the digital world were viewed from different angles. Particular attention was paid to the subject of "Web 2.0" and the possibilities of organizing social exchange with new technologies.

Speakers included Richard Scase, business strategist and professor of organization and leadership at the University of Kent, Curtis R. Carlson, managing director of SRI International, Jaron Lanier , computer scientist and artist, Tim O'Reilly , founder and managing director of O'Reilly Verlag 2004 the term "Web 2.0" for the first time on the occasion of a conference. Joachim Niemeier , honorary professor at the University of Stuttgart and former managing director of T-Systems Multimedia Solutions GmbH, hosted the event .

3rd Dresden Future Forum 2008

The 3rd Dresden Future Forum took place on June 5, 2008 in the International Congress Center Dresden. With this event, the topics of the first two future forums were deepened. Particular attention was paid to the question of how current developments will influence everyday life and the future of work. The focus is on the change to Enterprise 2.0 initiated by Web 2.0 , the increasing importance of computer games and their influence on the business world as well as advances in the field of artificial intelligence and its applications on the Internet.

Speakers were Don Tapscott , business strategist and author of various books, Wolfgang Wahlster , expert in the field of artificial intelligence, Yadegar Asisi , architect, university professor and artists known for his panorama presentations. The event was moderated by Ranga Yogeshwar .

4th Dresden Future Forum 2010

The 4th Dresden Future Forum took place on June 10, 2010 in the International Congress Center Dresden. This event focused on the development of the WorldWideWeb and the technological singularity . Particular attention was paid to the question of how current developments will influence everyday life and the future of work. This time, the usual lecture format was also integrated into Open Space in order to take into account the variety of topics.

The speakers were Raymond Kurzweil , futurologist, inventor and author, Sir Tim Berners-Lee , inventor of the WorldWideWeb , The event was moderated as at the 3rd Dresden Future Forum Ranga Yogeshwar.
