The drummer's focus is a private drum school that was opened in 1983 by Cloy Petersen in Munich as the first modern drum school in Germany. Today it is Europe's largest drum school.

Beginners and advanced, amateurs and professionals are taught . Also a teacher training in is offered, Bavaria and Baden-Wuerttemberg as vocational training is recognized.

Over 1000 lessons are given per week, around half of them in Munich. The classrooms are equipped with Mapex drums .

An important part of the lesson is playing on the practice pad. The basic playing technique is taught here, which is then transferred to the drums. Special emphasis is placed on conveying the feeling of groove .

The 30 or so drum teachers at drummer's Focus are stage professionals. Many were on tour for a long time, so that the students can also benefit from their practical experience.

The founder, Cloy Petersen, speaks of his philosophy of a "rhythmic authority" that accompanies every tempo, every note value and every improvisation .
