Drumnadrochit ( Scottish Gaelic Druim na Drochaid , "ridge on the bridge") is a place in Scotland . It is on the west bank of Loch Ness on the A82 .

According to the 2011 census, the town has a population of 1101.

Drumnadrochit is the center of Nessie tourism. It is very easy to reach from Inverness (capital of the Highlands ) by car, bus and boat. Outside the village is the ruin of Urquhart Castle . There are two competing visitor centers in town dedicated to Loch Ness and the search for the Loch Ness Monster and cryptozoology .

Nearby is the Falls of Divach waterfall .

In 2015, the Drumnadrochit stone chest was discovered on the flat land between the Coilte and Enrick rivers .
