Drygalski is an impact crater in the extreme southeast of the lunar front , south of Hausen crater and southeast of Zeeman . The rim of the crater is moderately eroded, the interior with a pronounced central mountain .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the German geographer and polar explorer Erich von Drygalski .
