Janik Janoyan

Dschanik Artaschessowitsch Dschanojan (russ. Джаник Арташесович Джаноян, other names spelling: Janik Artashesovich Janoyan, Armenian : Ջանիկ Ջանոյան) (* 21st October 1928 in Gyumri , Armenian SSR ; † 1. December 2010 ) was a Soviet and Armenian politicians and managers .

biography

After attending school, he studied economics at the State University of Yerevan and was an officer in the Red Army between 1951 and 1956 after completing his studies . After completing his military service , he first worked in the Ministry of Finance and then from 1957 to 1975 at the Council of Ministers of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic .

In 1975 he was appointed Minister of Finance of the Armenian SSR. After the sovereignty of the Soviet Union on September 21, 1991, he became the first finance minister of the newly established Republic of Armenia and held this office in the government of Prime Minister Hrant Bagratjan and the subsequent cabinets of Gagik Harutjunjan and Khosrov Arutjunjan until February 16, 1993.

He then became Chairman of the Management Board of the Armenian Development Bank in March 1993 and remained in this position until 2007.

The government awarded him the Anania Schirakatsi Medal for his services .
