The DuBois formula is a mathematical formula for estimating the body surface area A from body size h and body weight m in humans:

The DuBois formula was named after the first descriptor, the US natural scientist Delafield DuBois and the US medical doctor Eugene Floyd DuBois . It is the classic formula for calculating the body surface area in chemotherapy . Although it was derived from data from only nine test persons and is therefore viewed critically, it is still the most frequently used despite numerous optimized calculation methods, such as the Mosteller formula or the Haycock formula .
