The Dubai Autodrome is an FIA certified, permanent racetrack in Dubai ( United Arab Emirates ).
history
In 2002, the architect Clive Bowen, from the British architects Apex Circuit Design, was commissioned to plan the Dubai Autodrome. The racetrack was opened in October 2004 and is one of the most modern racetracks in the world. The Dubai Autodrome was the first race track with wide asphalt run-off areas .
The racetrack can be converted into four different racetrack variants, and there are two other variants not designed for motorsport. The lap record of the track in the Grand Prix variant was set by Kamui Kobayashi with 1: 41.220.
On the grounds of the Dubai Autodrome there is a complex with two CIK-certified kart tracks, the so-called Dubai Kartdrome. The outdoor go-kart track is 1.2 km long and has 17 bends, the indoor go-kart track is 620 m long.

Events
National, automobile and motorcycle championship races take place on the racetrack. From 2004 to 2006 the FIA GT Championship stopped in Dubai, and the GP2 Asia Series visited the circuit twice. The 24-hour race in Dubai has been taking place on the racetrack since 2006, and is very popular internationally.
