The Dubai Trolley is a single-track tram route in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates .

The route is close to the Burj Khalifa , the Dubai Mall and the elevated railway station of the same name on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro . It was privately funded and is about 1 km long. The only vehicle runs on batteries . It is built on two levels, the upper deck is open and has an ancient appearance. It was built by the American US Transportation Innovation Group , which already have similar vintage vehicles for Arubahn in Aruba has built. The tram in Dubai has no value of its own in its local public transport and only serves as a leisure activity.

future

There are plans to extend the route in a second construction phase to a 4.5 km circuit, which would make it part of the local public transport network.
