Were the Cimmerians with Trerern in Asia Minor and attacked the kingdom of the Lydians to why the Lydian King Gyges , mentioned in Assyrian documents GUGGU of Luddu, the Assyrian king Ashurbanipal asked for help. After the death of Gyges and the conquest of the Lydian capital Sardis , the Cimmerians threatened the Greek cities on the coast as well as Artemision at Ephesus .
