The Dunaferr Aréna is a football stadium in the Hungarian city of Dunaújváros , Fejér County , in the center of the country.
The sports facility, not far from the Danube , is also known as Dunaújváros Stadium or Eszperantó úti Stadium , after the Eszperantó úti street on which it is located. The namesake Dunaferr is a large steel producer in Hungary. The football club Dunaújváros PASE ( Dunaújváros Pálhalmai Agrospeciál SE ), founded in 1998, currently uses the venue. Until its dissolution in 2009, Dunaújváros FC welcomed their opponents to the games in the stadium.
On October 11, 2001, the then youth and sports minister Tamás Deutsch and the managing director of Dunaferr , László Tóth, laid the foundation stone for the new stadium. In 2003 the opening was celebrated.
The football stadium offers a total of 12,000 seats on its four tiers, 7,680 of which are covered. The two longitudinal stands (west and east) are each covered, while the rear stands are open to the sky. The sponsor's name Dunaferr was shown with red seats on the east strand . The back gate in the north is equipped with red seats and the electronic scoreboard is enthroned on it. The opposite side in the south is also furnished with red seats.
Directly south of the stadium is the Dunaferr Sportcsarnok ( German Dunaferr sports hall ) with 1,200 seats. It is the venue of the handball club Dunaferr SE . Right next to it is the Dunaújvárosi Jégcsarnok ( German Dunaújváros ice rink ). It is home to the Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák ice hockey team and has 4,000 seats.
