features

butterfly

The wingspan of the moth is 30 to 35 millimeters. The basic color of the forewings varies from silver-gray or gray-green to yellow-brown to dark brown. Ring and kidney defects are outlined in black, filled with light and occasionally provided with dark spots. The wavy line stands out whitish and borders on some inwardly directed, black arrow spots. In some specimens there is an orange colored over-dusting in the basal region. Climatic influences are also responsible for the color design. The hind wings are monochrome gray-brown, somewhat darker in the females.

Caterpillar

Adult caterpillars are light reddish gray in color and have numerous black spots. The back line is formed from a series of dark points.
