The dark yellow water hose ( Utricularia stygia ) or dark water hose is a type of plant from the genus of water hoses ( Utricularia ).

features

The dark yellow water hose is a deciduous, rootless, submerged aquatic plant that reaches heights of 5 to 15 centimeters. The end tips of the water leaves each have (2) 3 to 6 (7) eyelash teeth on the edge. The yellow crown is slightly reddish. The lower lip measures 9 to 11 × 13 to 15 millimeters. The spur has a length of 4 to 5 millimeters.

The flowering period extends from July to August.

Occurrence

The dark yellow water hose grows in Germany in oligo- to mesotrophic waters such as ditches, ponds, gullies and shallow bank areas of lakes. The species is rarely found in Bavaria , Baden-Württemberg ( Black Forest , Alpine foothills ), Rhineland-Palatinate , North Rhine-Westphalia and Northeast Saxony . In Schleswig-Holstein it is considered to be extinct. The distribution area of ​​this species is poorly known. According to P. Uotila (2013) the species occurs in Europe in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Austria and the Czech Republic.
