Dusky Ridge is an ice-free, 14.5 km long and 3 km wide mountain range in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains , it extends between the Hinton and Lieske glaciers .
The team to explore the Darwin Glacier in the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) named it as Dusky Mountains ( German Düstere Berge ) because of its appearance. The name was adapted as a result of re-mapping through surveys by the United States Geological Survey and using aerial photographs by the United States Navy between 1960 and 1962.
