Dustin Aaron Moseley (* 26. December 1981 in Texarkana , Arkansas ) is an American baseball player in Major League . Since the 2011 season he has played as a pitcher for the San Diego Padres .

Career

Moseley was voted 34th player ever by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the 2000 MLB Draft . He played in the Reds' farm system in the minor leagues until the end of the 2004 season and was then transferred to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim .

Moseley made his MLB debut for the Angels on July 17, 2006; in this game he was able to achieve his first win immediately . The 2007 season began Moseley as a starting pitcher, but was sent from the injured list to the bullpen after Jered Weaver returned . At the end of the season he had to undergo an operation on the ulnar nerve and was used by the Angels in only 12 games in the following season, 10 of them as a starter. He threw another 20 games for the Triple A team Salt Lake Bees. In August 2009, he was operated on on the hip.

After the 2009 season , Moseley became a free agent and received an invitation from the Yankees for Spring Training 2010. After signing the contract, he was initially sent to the Triple-A Team Scranton / Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees called him to their team on July 2, 2010 and put him first in the bullpen and from August as a starting pitcher for the injured Andy Pettitte .

On December 13, 2010, Moseley signed a one-year contract with the San Diego Padres for $ 900,000 .
