Dwight Thomas
Dwight Thomas (born September 23, 1980 in Kingston ) is a Jamaican sprinter and hurdler .
At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he started over 200 meters , but was eliminated in the quarterfinals. He reached the semi-finals at the 2003 World Championships and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens over 100 meters .
The following year he was fifth over 100 meters at the World Championships in Helsinki . At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , he was used in the run-up to the Jamaican 4 x 100 meters relay , but replaced in the final by Usain Bolt , with whom the Jamaican relay won gold.
In 2009 he switched to the 110-meter hurdles and was seventh in this discipline at the World Championships in Berlin . Here, too, he was used in the run-up to the later victorious Jamaican 4 x 100 meter relay.
At the 2011 World Championships in Daegu , he reached the 110-meter hurdle final, but stepped there in a hurdle and could not finish the race.
