The Tatra Station ( Pol . Dworzec Tatrzański ) was founded in 1880 in the center of Zakopane from the Tatra company on the promenade Krupówki close to the Tatra Museum and the tourist house in Zakopane style built.

Contrary to what the name suggests, the building was not designed as a train station, but as the seat of the Tatra Society and cultural center. The Zakopane Railway Station is located in a different part of town.

Walery Eljasz-Radzikowski suggested the construction in 1874. From 1881 the Tatra Society was located here, as well as a cultural center with a theater and art exhibitions. Mieczysław Karłowicz , Helena Modrzejewska , Ignacy Jan Paderewski and Henryk Sienkiewicz performed here . During a millennium celebration in January 1900, the Tatra train station burned down and was rebuilt from stone in 1902. The Tatra Mountain Rescue Service was established in 1908 in the Tatra Railway Station, where it was based. After the Second World War , the PTTK took over the Tatra train station. After a fire in 1992, the building was renovated. Today the Tatra train station houses the PTTK Zakopane and a club.

The building is listed.
