The Dwyer Arena (officially: Robert and Concetta Dwyer Arena ) is an ice rink in the US city of Lewiston in New York State . It is owned by Niagara University and is located on the university campus . It is used by their men's and women's ice hockey teams, the Niagara Purple Eagles . The arena has a capacity of 1,400 spectators.

history

The ice hockey arena was completed in 1996. Before the 1999/2000 season, the arena was thanks to a donation by Bob and Connie Dwyer in the amount of three million  US dollars thoroughly renovated. Both graduated from university in 1965. During the renovation, the cabins, training rooms and the players' lobby were brought up to date. In addition, separate entrances for the main and side ice rinks were created, and a ticket shop and a shop for ice hockey equipment were set up.

In the summer of 2007, another seating block was installed in the arena. As a result of this expansion, capacity could be increased from 1,600 to 2,100 places. The hall currently offers space for 1,400 visitors.
