Little is known about Dyre Kearney's life. His date of birth is also not known. He studied law , was inducted into the New Castle County Bar Association, and then began practicing as a lawyer in Dover. Between 1787 and 1788 he took up his mandate as a delegate to the Continental Congress, whose meetings at that time took place exclusively in New York . He then returned to Delaware and practiced law in Dover until his death. He died around November 1, 1791; this, too, can no longer be determined precisely.
