Joachim Holce

Joachim Holce (* 1683 in Stramehl in Pomerania ; † 16th February 1742 in Bublitz in Pomerania), and Joachim Holtze or Joachimus Holce , was a German theologian , a high school teacher and pastor .

His father Philipp Holce was a pastor in Stramehl . Joachim Holce attended the Collegium Groeningianum in Stargard and then from 1698 the Latina in Halle ad Saale . He studied from 1700 at the University of Wittenberg and from 1703 to 1705 at the University of Königsberg .

In 1714 Holce became professor of mathematics and eloquence at the Collegium Groeningianum , his old school. From 1722 he also held the newly established post of prison preacher in Stargard.

In 1725 he moved to Bublitz as pastor and prepositor , where he died in 1742.

Holce wrote a number of theological writings. Since 1725 he was a foreign member of the Royal Prussian Society of Sciences .
