EXE was an American thrash metal band from New York City , which was founded in 1984 under the name Executioner and split up in 1991.
history
The band was formed in 1984 under the name Executioner. After the band noticed that there was already a band of the same name from Boston , they renamed themselves EXE. The band consisted of singer Joseph Palma, guitarists Rui Tavora and Adam Marigliano, bassist Rick Boeckel and drummer Charles Lopez. In 1986 the band recorded their debut album, Stricken by Might , which was released on Shatter Records after a year of delay . The album was produced by Carl Canedy ( The Rods ). In 1990 the second album Sicker Than I Thought! whereupon Tommy Lee Haley could be heard as the new singer. Drummer Bill Gerdes and bassist Gus Silva were also included on the album as new members. Haley soon left the band, and after a few more line-up changes, the group broke up again.
style
The band mixed thrash metal with power metal elements on their first album, whereas pure, fast-paced thrash metal could be heard on the second album. In addition, the vocals are very different, which on Sicker Than I Thought! by the new singer Tommy Lee Haley is much higher.
