The ems new media AG was a company that film licenses recycled , DVDs sold and digitizing tasks performed. According to the company, ems new media had 800 feature film licenses of all genres and around 550 music and special interest licenses, especially for B-movies .
history
The company was founded in 1997 (as Hecker & Schneider GmbH, then trading as Hecker Digital) and produced Germany's first feature film DVD. The company went public on November 21, 2000 .
In 2004, the restructuring of the business for the exploitation of film and other rights, which had previously focused on DVD, began. For this purpose, the subsidiary e-ms music GmbH was founded and an office was opened in Los Angeles . Ems music GmbH ceased to exist on December 1, 2011 and was officially removed from the commercial register. In April 2005, 3L Filmproduktion GmbH , later ems filmproduction GmbH , was founded, which acted as a co-producer for German film projects. Due to this payment default, ems sales GmbH also filed for insolvency on March 5, 2009 due to a lack of liquid funds .
Werner Wirsing was the board member and majority shareholder of ems new media AG and managing director of the subsidiaries ems new media AG , ems studios GmbH and ems filmproduction GmbH . Since August 1st, 2009 Ralf Simon was appointed to the additional board of directors and should become sole director of ems new media AG from November 1st, 2009 .
On 21 May 2010, has ems new media AG before the Amtsgericht Dortmund applied for the opening of insolvency proceedings.
At the beginning of January 2012 there was a delisting on the stock exchanges. The ems company no longer exists.
