The EEV 1-10 were passenger - Tender locomotive of the First Transylvanian Railway (Első Erdélyi Vasút, EEV).

In 1868, the EEV ordered ten passenger locomotives from Maffei in Munich . The machines had internal frames and internal controls.

In the course of the nationalization that took place in 1884, they were initially assigned the numbers 231-240 by the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV), and from 1891 in the second designation scheme the category IIh with the numbers 1201-1210.

From 1911 they were listed as 257.001–008. The locomotives were retired between 1911 and 1913.
