The ETO Group develops and produces electromagnetic valves, actuators and sensors for customers worldwide. The components regulate and control highly dynamic processes in vehicles, for example in electronic brake systems with ABS and ESP functions, systems for camshaft valve control or in automatic transmissions.

history

In 1948 the couple Christa and Hermann Laur founded the GmbH Elektroteile Oberuhldingen , which concentrated on the development and production of transformers . In 1955 the company switched to the production of electromagnets , initially for hydraulic control technology . In the following years the product portfolio was continuously expanded. In 1968 the founding couple formed the Christa and Hermann Laur Foundation , which from then on acted as shareholders of the company. In 1992 the headquarters were relocated to Stockach . In 1999 the company EKS Elektromagnetik from Vaihingen an der Enz was taken over and at the same time the parent company was renamed ETO Magnetic , so that the ETO group was created as the parent company. From 2000 to 2005 the group expanded further. This resulted in locations in Wroclaw ( Poland ), Nuremberg , Kunshan ( China ) and Grand Rapids ( Michigan , USA ) , either through acquisition or the establishment of a new company . In 2010 the company was restructured worldwide and divided into the three segments of automobiles, commercial vehicles and industrial technology.

Locations and subsidiaries

The ETO Group is divided into the following subsidiaries:

  • The ETO Magnetic GmbH in Stockach , formerly electrical parts GmbH Oberuhldingen , is the main production site and administrative center of the group.
  • The EKS electromagnetics GmbH in Vaihingen was founded in 1999 by a majority ownership of the ETO Group. The company was founded in 1961 and manufactures electromagnets , solenoid valves and actuators .
  • The ETO Magnetic Sp. In Wroclaw , Poland was founded in 2000 as a subsidiary of ETO Group and produces electromagnetic components for the automotive and industrial technology.
  • The ETO Sensoric GmbH in Nuremberg since 2002 by purchasing part of the ETO Group. It produces pressure sensors for vehicle technology and special areas of mechanical and plant engineering .
  • The ETO Magnetic Technologies Co., Ltd. in Kunshan , China was newly founded in 2005 by the ETO group. Electromagnetic products for the automotive and hydraulic industries are manufactured there.
  • The ETO Magnetic Corp. in Grand Rapids , Michigan , USA was established in 2005 through the acquisition of LDI Inc. It manufactures electromagnetic components for automotive and industrial technology.
