The EWA IId was a series of tank locomotives operated by the Schneeberg Railway , from which it came to ÖBB via the Vienna-Aspang Railway (EWA) .

The SchBB owned three locomotives of this series, which were named “WR. NEUSTADT ”,“ FISCHAU ”and“ GRÜNBACH ”as well as the numbers 1–3 . All three machines were built in 1896 by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik . In 1919 they were incorporated into the EWA designation scheme as the EWA IId series with the numbers 25-27 .

When the BBÖ took over the Vienna – Aspang railway on lease in 1937, the machines in this series were not given a BBÖ number. The Deutsche Reichsbahn, however, classified them in 1938 as 88.7201–7203. The 88.7203 was retired in 1939, the 88.7201 went to the USSR in 1948 , the 88.7202 finally became the ÖBB 188.01 in 1955 . It left the stock in 1960.
