The four-axle open freight car of the type Eaos is used by numerous European railway companies . The trolleys are versatile and serve u. a. for the transport of coal, ores, stones, scrap, wood, etc. These wagons were acquired by the then German Federal Railroad from 1978 .
The cars were created due to a UIC standardization at the beginning of the 1970s. The first series was the Eaos 106. Over time, these cars were equipped with a steel floor and in this context were renamed Eaos-x 051. At the same time, the other new buildings were built under the designation Eaos-x 051. The Eaos 106 that remained until 2003 were also rebuilt and fully refurbished; they were given the designation Eaos-x 075. This measure was completed in 2014.
Some cars have a floor-operated handbrake. Lashing straps can be attached to the car to secure the load, with eyelets attached to the long sides. All cars have side doors, most of them have two doors on each side.
