The East Bay ( English for east bay ) is an 800 m wide side bay of Prince Olav Harbor on the north coast of South Georgia . It lies between Dinghy Point and Squire Point .
The bay got its typonymous name from participants in the Quest expedition (1921-1922) under the direction of the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton and his deputy Frank Wild .
