The Eaton Nunatak is a 1400 m high and distinctive nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises at the southeast end of the Merrick Mountains .
It was mapped by surveying the United States Geological Survey and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1961 and 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after the American aurora researcher John W. Eaton, who in 1963 on the Eights station was operating.
