Ebental

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ebental is an agriculturally used plateau in the Rhine-Taunus Nature Park . It is located at an altitude of 300 to 315 meters above the wine towns of Rüdesheim am Rhein and Eibingen in the Hessian Rheingau-Taunus district . The Ebentaler Hof leisure facility with pony land and the largest pig fattening facility in the Rheingau-Taunus district, the Petershof estate, are located on the Ebental .

Geographical location

The St. Hildegard Abbey is located in the vineyards of the southern slopes of the Ebental valley . North of the Ebental valley, the terrain slopes down towards Aulhausen and the Hüllenbach . As a mountain ridge, the Ebental creates a connection between the Niederwald near Rüdesheim to the west and the Rheingau mountains with the extensive forest area Kammerforst in the north. Both forest areas are well developed by hiking trails, whereby the Niederwald Landscape Park with the Niederwald Monument is visited by many tourists. In the east the Ebental slopes down to the Blaubach . This is where the former Nothgottes monastery and the Eibingen settlement of Windeck are located .
