Eberhard Büchner

Eberhard Büchner (born November 6, 1939 in Dresden ) is a German opera and concert singer ( tenor ).

Life

Büchner first studied church music, then later at the "Carl Maria von Weber" College of Music singing. Degree as opera and concert singer (with teaching license)

Eberhard Büchner made his debut in 1964 at the State Theater Schwerin as Tamino in Die Zauberflöte . In 1966 he was engaged by the Dresden State Opera as a lyric tenor. In 1968 he became a permanent member of the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and worked there as a lyric tenor until 2000. He sang all the great parts of his subject. In 1971 he made his international debut in Vienna with the Christmas Oratorio by JS Bach, which was followed by regular guest appearances in all major music centers in Europe (including Salzburg, Dresden, Hamburg, Munich, Rome, Milan, Vienna, London, Copenhagen, Brussels, Paris and Tokyo) as Opera, concert and lied singer. He was a regular guest at the Salzburg Festival and after his successful “Lohengrin” in Salzburg in 1984 under Herbert v. Karajan gave this role as a guest at many major opera houses in Europe. This was followed by further Wagner roles, including a. Erik at La Scala in Milan, Parsifal in Paris, Loge in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Bordeaux. In 1986 he made a guest appearance at the Vatican under Leonard Bernstein and was personally awarded the papal order by the Pope.

He also worked with Otmar Suitner, Karl Böhm, Horst Stein, Riccardo Muti, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Georges Prêtre , Marek Janowski, Jeffrey Tate, Seiji Ozawa, Gerd Albrecht, Michal Schonwandt, Helmuth Rilling, Peter Schreier, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Neville Mariner, Hartmut Haenchen u. a.

Büchner is a prize winner of the Leipzig International Bach Competition, Kammersänger, national prize winner for art and culture and received the Berlin newspaper's critics' prize. In 1996, together with his wife Heidi, he founded the singing and concert studio FERMATE in Neuenhagen near Berlin, where he still dedicates himself to writing and composing activities and teaching young singers.
