Eberhard Bay

Eberhard Bay (born December 12, 1908 in Tübingen ; † May 1, 1989 in Düsseldorf ) was a German neurologist and university professor .

life and work

After studying medicine and further training as a specialist, Bay qualified as a professor in Berlin in 1940. In 1948 he was appointed adjunct professor and in 1955 was offered the chair of neurology at the Medical Academy (later University Clinic) in Düsseldorf. Bay was u. a. from 1963 to 1964 chairman of the German Society for Neurology and from 1967 to 1969 chairman of the German section of the ILAE (since 2004: German Society for Epileptology ). In 1969 Eberhard Bay was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
