Eberhard Oertel (born April 13, 1937 in Magdeburg ; † January 30, 2019 in Kiel ) was a German painter and art teacher.

He later turned from the new realism to a purely abstract painting. Both epochs have in common a precise representation of form and brushwork with finely graduated color transitions as well as an ambivalent representation between appealing aesthetics and oppressive content.
