Ebrima Mballow

Ebrima M. Mballow (* 20th century in Mansajang Kunda ) is a Gambian banker, politician and diplomat. He was Minister of the Interior in Gambia from January 2018 to August 2019.

Life

Mballow attended Armitage High School and joined the Gambia National Gendarmerie (GNG) in 1987 . In 1992, the year the GNG was dissolved, he began to work as a banker in the banking industry. Mballow was most recently employed at Arab Gambia Islamic Bank (AGIB) as a division manager in business development. On March 6, 2017, Mballow was appointed governor of the Gambian West Coast Region (WCR) by the new Adama Barrow government, replacing Aminata Sifai Hydara , who was removed from this post in early February.

On January 8, 2018 Mballow was President Adama Barrow as Interior Minister ( English Minister of the Interior ) appointed as the successor to the governor was Bakary Sanyang determined. On August 22, 2019, Mballow was replaced as Interior Minister by Yankuba Sonko and posted to the Foreign Service. With effect from August 21, 2019, Mballow was sent to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) as consul general , replacing Sheikh Omar Fye .
