Echeveria canaliculata is a species of the genus Echeveria ( Echeveria ) in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae).
description
Echeveria canaliculata forms shoots with a length of 15 centimeters or more and a diameter of about 2 centimeters. The individual leaf rosettes are about 20 to 25 centimeters in diameter. The oblong, lanceolate leaves are thorn-pointed or have an attached tip and are 10 to 15 centimeters long and 2.5 to 3 centimeters wide. The upper side of the leaf is deeply rutted and the leaves are colored glaucous . The leaves of the plants from the type collection are purple, while the leaves of the plants from Oaxaca are light green.
The inflorescence consists of grapes and it becomes 35 to 50 centimeters long. The flower stalks are 6 to 12 millimeters long or longer. The sepals are uniform and spread-back bent. The strongly 5-edged corolla is 12 to 25 millimeters long and is brick-red in color. The number of chromosomes is 44.
Distribution and systematics
Echeveria canaliculata is distributed in Mexico in the state of Chiapas in the municipality of Motozintla and in the state of Oaxaca .
The first description was in 1857 by William Jackson Hooker . There are the following synonyms : Cotyledon canaliculata (Hook.) Baker and Echeveria rubescens Lem.
