Echinomastus gautii is a species of plant in the genus Echinomastus from the cactus family(Cactaceae).

description

Echinomastus gautii grows individually with shoots that reach heights of 7 to 8 centimeters with a diameter of 5 to 6 centimeters. The 2 to 3 upward, straight or slightly curved central spines are lime blue and have a darker tip. They are up to 2 inches long. The 16 to 22 spread radial spines are whitish and 0.9 to 1.2 inches long.

Flowers and fruits are not described.

Systematics and distribution

Echinomastus gautii is distributed in the US state of Texas in Hardin County near the city of Sour Lake . It was first described as Neolloydia gautii in 1974 by Lyman David Benson . Alessandro Mosco and Carlo Zanovello placed them in 1997 in the genus Echinomastus .
