The real rose dew fungus ( Podosphaera pannosa ) is a hose fungus from the family of powdery mildew fungi (Erysiphaceae). It is a plant pathogen and mainly affects roses ( Rosa ) and species of the genus Prunus .
description
The mycelium develops rapidly and vigorously. It is initially white and then turns yellowish to gray-brown. The conidia are arranged in chains. They are 23 to 29 micrometers long and between 14 and 19 micrometers wide. The wall of the conidia is thin and consists of two layers. Fruiting bodies are very rarely formed when they measure between 80 and 100 micrometers and contain only a few appendages.
distribution
The real rose fungal grows on branches, petioles and sepals of roses or on the shoot tips of species of the genus Prunus , especially peaches ( Prunus persica ).
The species is cosmopolitan (worldwide).
