research

In the introduction to his dissertation, Eckhard Hein outlines the post-classical or post-Keynesian research program to which he feels obliged. He rejects the neoclassical theory that forms the mainstream of economics in Germany . This includes in particular the rejection of Say's law and the emphasis on monetary analysis , in which money plays an important role and is not added to the analysis of a natural economy afterwards .

In his dissertation, Eckhard Hein tries to show the synthesis possibilities of Marxian and Keynesian theory in accordance with this research program . Since his dissertation, Eckhard Hein has been working on the further development of post-Keynesian theory in his publications , working in particular on the integration of money, distribution and growth theory.

Hein noted that the share of labor income in national income, which has been falling for more than two decades in the mature industrialized countries, has received little attention in the political and growth-theoretical debate, as this debate is dominated by the neoclassical paradigm. In his textbook on the macroeconomics of distribution and growth , on the other hand, he also shows the concepts of distribution and growth theory in the approaches of Classical Political Economy (by Adam Smith and David Ricardo ), in the Marxist approach and in detail in the post-Keynesian approach (in the tradition of Joan Robinson , Nicholas Kaldor and Michal Kalecki ) and its newer lines of development.

In addition, Hein has published on questions of macroeconomic policy (monetary, financial and wage policy) and European economic policy. Recently, the influence of the financial system on economic development has been a focus of his work.
