Ed Vaizey

Edward Henry Butler "Ed" Vaizey (* 5. June 1968 in Berkshire ) is a British politician of the Conservative Party . He was a Member of the House of Commons in the United Kingdom from 2005 to 2019 and a Member of the UK Government from 2010 to 2016.

Life

Ed Vaizey, son of the economist John, Baron Vaizey , and the art critic and non-fiction author Marina Vaizey , studied at Merton College at Oxford University after attending St. Paul's School in London .

In 2005 he won a seat as an MP in the Wantage constituency and moved into the House of Commons . In 2010 he became Minister of State for Culture, Media and Sports under David Cameron . In 2016 he was released by Theresa May .

On September 4, 2019, he was expelled from the Conservative Party faction due to his parliamentary opposition to a Brexit without an EU exit agreement. On November 6, 2019, he announced that he did not want to run for a seat in parliament again.
