Eddie Martin

Eddie Martin (actually Eduardo Vittorio Martino * 26. February 1903 in Brooklyn , † 27. August 1968 ) was an American boxer in the bantamweight .

Professional career

In 1921 Martin began his career, which should include 81 wins (at 29 kos), 12 losses and 4 draws. On December 19, 1924, he boxed against Abe Golstein for both the universal and the NYSAC world championships and won by split decision. He lost both titles in March of the following year against Charlie Phil Rosenberg on points. In July 1928 Martin lost a five times postponed fight because of bad weather in front of 20,000 spectators at Ebbets Field for the junior lightweight title against Tod Morgan .

In 1932 "Cannonball" ended his career.
