The noble seat Leithen , also called Caplan-Leithen , is located in the former district of Leithen of the municipality Hofkirchen im Mühlkreis in the Rohrbach district (Falkenstein 10).

history

Leithen was a seat of the Kaplan ( Caplansleiten ). 1411 Wernhard is mentioned in a sales deed of the Chapell zw Lewten. In 1455, Simon Kaplan received the seat of Leytten from King Ladislaus as a fief . In 1459 a feudal confirmation was given by Duke Albrecht VI. pronounced by Austria . In 1492 a Wolfgang Caplan was found on Leithen. The chaplains sold their properties in the Mühlviertel and settled in Linz . In this context, the seat was probably bequeathed to a farmer before 1661.

Edelitz Leithen today

The former noble estate is now the Ganser family's farm. The brick tower of the Leithen seat was built onto the farm and connected to the farm with a corner. Due to a fire at the beginning and new buildings in the 1970s, these parts were lost. In the courtyard there are beautiful, recent granite portals at the entrance and as door frames.
