Edeltraud Brexner

Edeltraud Brexner (also Traude Brexner , born June 12, 1927 in Vienna ) was prima ballerina in the ballet of the Vienna State Opera .

Life

From 1934 she studied at the ballet school of the Vienna State Opera, to which she belonged from 1944 to 1972. After the war she helped set up the State Opera Ballet, was a soloist from 1952 and a prima ballerina from 1957. In the early 1950s she was also seen in a few feature films.

Until the 1970s she was the most sought-after Austrian ballet dancer and the first wearer of the Fanny Elßler ring donated by Riki Raab , which she presented to Jolantha Seyfried .

From 1962 she taught at the Opera Ballet School , from 1973 to 1979 she was also its deputy director.

Married to the ballet master Richard Nowotny, she became an honorary member of the Vienna State Opera in 1980 .
