Edevaldo de Freitas , aka Edevaldo (born January 28, 1958 in Campos dos Goytacazes , Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian soccer player who played as a defender on the right side.

During his career (1979-1998) he played for numerous clubs, including the Brazilian clubs Fluminense , Internacional-RS , CR Vasco da Gama , Botafogo FR , Bangu AC , Vila Nova FC , América Rio , AA Portuguesa (RJ) and in Portugal for FC Porto .

In 1980 he won the State Championship of the State of Rio de Janeiro and in 1982 the João Gamper Trophy in Spain . He played 18 times for the Brazilian national soccer team between October 1980 and July 1982 . He also took part in the Mundialito in late 1980 / early 1981 and scored once in a 1-1 draw against Argentina.

He was in the Seleção squad at the 1982 World Cup and was used once.

With FC Porto he won the Portuguese championship in 1985/86.
