Edgar Feichtner (born December 31, 1956 ) is a German economist and has been a professor at the University of Regensburg since 1997 . He is also a brass musician in the Schinderhannes band with his brother Peter , in the gala band Luis Trinkers Höhenrausch (since 1987) and in the Alpia4 alphorn quartet . Feichtner also occasionally plays in Hannes Ringlstetter's band .

Feichtner studied business administration in Regensburg, Munich and Johannesburg . In 1991 he received his doctorate in Regensburg with a dissertation on the liberation of farmers in Lower Bavaria . He was marketing manager at Funkhaus Regensburg and, after 1995, lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Regensburg. In 1997 he was given the chair for economics with a focus on market research , strategic positioning and market communication .

Feichtner founded mafotools gmbh in 1999 in Regensburg , a private institute for IT-supported market research, in which he employs 15 people in Germany and Europe. Among other things, he is a member of the Regensburg Association for Advertising Research and the Regensburg Marketing Club. In addition, the new “historical • lively • different” city logo of the city of Abensberg , which was decided in 2010, goes back to Feichtner's research projects.
